HOTEL CASONA DEL PATIO

The Hotel Casona del Patio was born out of a need. In 1997 the Anzola and Garcia family couldn’t find a comfortable and informal place to receive their friends and family members in Bogota for mothers’ day celebration. In searching for a solution, the grandmother—Cecilia Iriarte de Anzola—suggested to accommodate them in the house where her son and son in law had their office. Her granddaughter proposed then to adapt the house to a Hotel. It wasn’t easy, from finding guests willing to share bathrooms in our beginning, to fourteen rooms completely equipped, and with bathroom nowadays. Because our house was built in 1940 and declared a city heritage landmark, we have tried to revert it to its original condition, conserving, in especial, the central and characteristic yellow patio.
